In 1996 I realised this short film with the support of Sacher Film. It was written with Claudio Tomati and based on a novel by Flannery O’Connor (“The life you save may be your own”). It was shot over a typically foggy autumn on Oltrepo’ Pavese hills. That is a region where part of my family come from and that I always felt close to the atmosphere of Southern American literature. It will be available at link below all over 2016. Enjoy!

“La place” has been my first short film. I shot it in Lyon (France) on may 1995, after buying a second hand 16mm Arriflex ST camera. The camera was quite noisy and I had 2 lenses: 16 and 32mm. We always used 32mm which is a long enough focal so that we could stay far away from our actors and the noise of the camera was not audible. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of my eldest “son” the film will be available for free at this link during all 2015. Enjoy!
